Best MACtion Bets of Week 13
It’s Thanksgiving Week and the MACtion is going to be more spread out this time around. There are still two games on Tuesday night, but all of the Ohio teams are set to take the field this weekend.
Every team in the MAC now has at least four losses and the title race is still up for grabs. There are some great games on the schedule, but there are also some terrific betting opportunities as well.
Here are the three best MACtion bets of the week to feast on.
Ohio Bobcats -5.5 at Bowling Green Falcons
A battle of 3-8 teams is the first game to look at on Friday as Ohio is set to take on Bowling Green. Both teams have been a big disappointment this season, but Ohio has had some much tougher losses to deal with.
Bowling Green has lost two straight games, and they have been blown out in each of those matchups. The Falcons are giving up 32 points per game, and that defense has been atrocious of late.
Ohio doesn’t do a ton of scoring, but they have done a nice job of controlling the tempo in most games. The Bobcats have played well in their last three matchups and they just feel like a better team in this game.
Ohio comes into Bowling Green and wins this game by a touchdown.
Kent State Golden Flashes -1.0 vs. Miami (OH) RedHawks
The best game of the week should take place on Saturday as Kent State and Miami are set to square off. Both teams are 6-5 on the year, but each team enters this one with a little bit of momentum.
Miami (OH) has been winning games with defense this season, allowing just 21 points per night. The RedHawks are led on offense by quarterback Brett Gabbert who has thrown 20 touchdowns this season.
Kent State loves to run the football as they are averaging nearly 250 rushing yards per game. The Golden Flashes have a pretty awful defense this season, but the running game is going to be the difference in this one.
The fact that this game is being played at Kent State matters as they find a way to come away with a win.
Akron Zips +28.0 at Toledo Rockets
The nickname of MACtion was given to this league because of the unpredictable nature of some results, and this game has the ability to be one of those. Toledo is a massive four-touchdown favorite at home against Akron, but don’t be surprised if some craziness ensues on Saturday.
Akron is losing games by nearly 20 points per game, but they have also had some interesting results mixed in there. The Zips are giving up nearly 250 rushing yards per game, but they are facing a Toledo team that doesn’t run it as well as some other opponents.
The Rockets simply need to take care of business at home, but it’s hard to expect them to cover a whopping 28 points. Toledo is scoring just 32 points per game, and it takes them a while to score at times.
You simply have to take the 28 points in this matchup and look for Akron to cover.
