Best MACtion Bets This Week

The Mid-American Conference (MAC) has six games on the schedule this weekend, and the slate is loaded with some terrific matchups. The race to the conference title is starting to heat up, and these games are going to have an impact on the eventual conference champion.

While there are six games scheduled for Saturday, three of these games provide great betting opportunities. Here are the best MACtion bets for Week Eight.

Central Michigan Chippewas -5.0 vs. Northern Illinois Huskies

The Northern Illinois Huskies are the only undefeated team left in the MAC, but they are underdogs this week. Central Michigan is currently a five-point favorite, and the Chippewas come into this game with plenty of momentum.

Northern Illinois has been running over teams all season long, averaging 238 rushing yards per game. The Huskies don’t throw the ball well at all, and that’s going to be a problem in this matchup.

Central Michigan quarterback Daniel Richardson has 11 touchdown passes this season while throwing just two interceptions. Richardson should have a big game on Saturday, and the Chippewas are simply a better offensive team.

It has been a great start for Northern Illinois, but it all starts to fall apart in Week 8. Bet the Central Michigan Chippewas -5.0 as they take control and cruise to a victory.

Ball State Cardinals -5.0 vs. Miami (OH) Redhawks

Ball State hosts Miami on Saturday in what could be the most interesting game of the day. Both teams enter this game with a 2-1 record in conference play, and the winner will get a huge resume-boosting win.

The Cardinals will try to speed up the pace in this game, while the Redhawks will be looking to slow things down. The offensive and defensive numbers are similar for each team, but Ball State has more overall talent.

This should be a game that goes back-and-forth for three quarters, but Ball State is eventually going to pull ahead. Bet on the Ball State Cardinals -5.0 as they pick up a big win over the Miami RedHawks.

Kent State Golden Flashes -5.5 at Ohio Bobcats

The Kent State Golden Flashes are currently atop the standings in the East Division, and they are hoping to stay there. Kent State travels to Ohio on Saturday for a matchup with the 1-6 Bobcats.

The Golden Flashes are allowing over 34 points per game this season, and that defense is going to have to improve as the season moves along. The good news for Kent State is that Ohio State is scoring just 20 points per game, and they don’t pose a real threat.

The Bobcats are averaging 201 rushing yards per game, but they don’t pose much of a threat in the passing game at all. Kent State is going to load up the box and force Ohio to try and beat them through the air.

Kent State was blown out in a Week Seven loss to Western Michigan, but this will be a great chance to bounce back in a big way. Ohio just hasn’t played good football all season long, and the Golden Flashes are winning this game.

Take Kent State -5.5 as they are more than a touchdown better than Ohio.
