Best MACtion Bets This Week

There is just one game scheduled for Week 9 in the MAC Conference as the league will soon shift to playing games on Tuesday night. That is when the real fun will begin as the conference will be featured nationally.

The race to the MAC Conference Championship is heating up in both divisions, but there is still plenty of time for the standings to be flipped upside down. The game on Saturday will feature the 4-4 Buffalo Bulls hosting the 2-6 Bowling Green Falcons.

Buffalo got off to a slow start this season, but they are starting to look like a title contender again. The Bulls are now 4-4 on the year after winning two straight games against teams from Ohio.

Bowling Green is headed in the opposite direction after losing four straight games. The Falcons have been competitive in some of those losses, but there are still some major holes on this roster.

Buffalo is a 13.5-point favorite over Bowling Green in this Week 9 battle.

Bowling Green Needs to Run

The Falcons are averaging just 79 rushing yards per game this season, and that just won’t get it done in the MAC. Bowling Green has been able to throw the ball well, but opposing defenses are dropping an extra man in coverage to stop that attack.

Quarterback Matt McDonald is closing in on 2,000 passing yards this season, but he has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns. Bowling Green is going to have to cash in on offense if they want any chance of winning this game.

Bowling Green has given up at least 34 points in each of their last three games, and this could be another long night for the defense.

Buffalo Playing Fast

Buffalo is scoring over 32 points per game this season, and they have a ton of balance on offense. The Bulls line up and snap the ball in a hurry, and they are going to put a ton of pressure on the Bowling Green defense in this game.

Running back Dylan McDuffie is one of the best players in the MAC, and he has racked up 603 rushing yards and seven touchdowns this season. If Bowling Green isn’t able to slow McDuffie down, then the Bulls will just keep running the football.

There is still some work to be done on the defensive side of the ball for Buffalo, but that shouldn’t be a big issue in this game.

Buffalo Blows Out Bowling Green

Buffalo is already the better team in this matchup, and having this game played in New York gives the Bulls an even bigger advantage. Bowling Green did upset Minnesota on the road earlier in the year, but things have gone south for them in a hurry.

Buffalo just has too many weapons on the offensive side of the field, and they are going to put up a ton of points in this game. The Falcons can keep this competitive for a half, but it will be all Bulls after halftime.

Bet on the Buffalo Bulls -13.5 as they cruise to a third straight win by blowing out Bowling Green.
