The college football action is really starting to heat up as we are now entering Week 6 of the season. This is the time of year when conference games tend to take place, and that usually presents some better betting opportunities.

There are two games featuring teams from Ohio to target on Saturday, and then another team from the Big Ten Conference. Here are the three best Week 6 college football betting picks to make.

Toledo Rockets -5.5 at Northern Illinois Huskies

The MAC title race is wide open through the first five weeks of the season as it appears no team wants to step up and take over. Toledo looks to have a good shot at becoming one of the leaders, but they will have a tough matchup against Northern Illinois in Week 6.

The Rockets are going to come into this game with a ton of momentum after blowing out Central Michigan a week ago. Toledo can really score points in a hurry, and they have a solid defense as well.

Northern Illinois has lost four straight games, including an overtime loss to Ball State last week. This should be a great opportunity for Toledo to pick up another big win and they will cover the spread.

Michigan State Spartans +27.5 vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

It’s hard to put into words how impressive the Ohio State Buckeyes have been this season as they are outscoring their opponents by 34 points per game. Ohio State hasn’t played on the road yet this season though, and that makes this Week 6 matchup interesting.

The Michigan State Spartans are just 2-3 on the year, and they haven’t been able to score points of late. Michigan State is always a team that plays the Buckeyes tough though, and they will be ready in this game.

CJ Stroud will find a way to get the Buckeyes past the Spartans on Saturday night, but this won’t be easy. No one just goes into East Lansing and picks apart the Spartans, and MSU always gives Ohio State their best shot.

Take the points in this game as the Buckeyes won’t be able to win by four touchdowns.

Illinois Fighting Illini -3.5 vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

The Illinois Fighting Illini might be the most impressive team in the Big Ten Conference outside of Michigan and Ohio State. Illinois has a defense that is one of the best in the country and they should have another dominant performance on Saturday.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are not having a great season, and they are a team that simply can’t find the end zone. Iowa is averaging just 16 points per game this season, and they are going to struggle to keep pace in this game.

Illinois still has to prove that it can start beating some of the best teams in the Big Ten Conference, but they will get that done on Saturday. Take the Fighting Illini -3.5 as they pick up another important Big Ten West Division win.
