Kennesaw State Owls vs. Cincinnati Bearcats Betting Odds & Picks
The Cincinnati Bearcats will host the Kennesaw State Owls for their home season opener on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m at Nippert Stadium.
The Bearcats are coming off of a brutal loss on the road against the Arkansas Razorbacks this past weekend, where they missed multiple opportunities to keep themselves in the game and eventually lost by a score of 31-24.
Kennesaw State opened up their season away at Samford and couldn't take care of business either as they fell by a score of 27-17. Both teams will be hungry for their first win, but the Bearcats will be favored very heavily as they are the more talented team by far, and the game will be in Cincinnati.
Let's look ahead at this matchup between the Kennesaw State Owls and the Cincinnati Bearcats for week two of the college football season.
Odds
The Cincinnati Bearcats are the expected heavy favorites versus the Owls on Saturday. They are 27.5 point favorites with an over/under of 49 points expected to be scored in the game.
It is early in the week, so these odds could change depending on what happens throughout the week, but you can expect the odds to stay somewhat true to these numbers.
Players To Watch For
Ben Bryant was given the start just before Saturday's game because of his success last season when he played for Eastern Michigan before transferring back to Cincinnati. He threw 14 touchdowns and passed for over 3,000 yards in the 13 games he played last season.
He went 26-43 on Saturday with two touchdowns and one interception for 325 yards. He was also sacked three times in that game.
It will be interesting to see if Luke Fickell decides to stick with Bryant or pivot to Evan Prater for the start on Saturday. Regardless, both quarterbacks should see the field for some time since it is expected to be a blowout.
Xavier Shepherd is expected to start for the Owls, and he will have a tall task ahead when facing the Bearcats. He only threw the ball thirteen times in the game last Thursday against Samford and completed five of those for 135 yards.
He threw no touchdowns and one interception. He ran the ball 35 times in that game but only accrued 64 yards in total. He had one touchdown on the ground.
Expected Outcome
The Bearcats will easily win this game coming off of a heartbreaking loss against Arkansas. They should be able to overpower the Owls with ease and get anything they want down the field on offense.
I am going to be pulling for the Bearcats to win with the spread because they will be playing in front of their home crowd and need to dominate this game to get them back on track after a week one loss.
