Three Ohio State Buckeyes vs Nebraska Prop Bets

The Ohio State Buckeyes will go on the road to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday at noon on FOX after taking care of Penn State at home last weekend.

Ohio State is ranked #5 in the College Football Playoff rankings that came out this past Thursday. They will need to most likely win out to get a spot in the Playoff.

Nebraska is coming off a close loss to Purdue at home last weekend and are looking to avenge that loss and play spoiler to the Buckeyes on Saturday. Ohio State comes into this game with a record of 7-1, and Nebraska sits at 3-6.

The Buckeyes are first in the Big Ten East with a 5-0 record. The Cornhuskers are last in the Big Ten West with a deceptive 1-5 record, losing to both Michigan State and Michigan, who are ranked in the top ten, by three.

Let’s take a look at the best prop bets for this Saturday's matchup.

Three Best Prop Bets

Nebraska Team Total Points Over 25.5 (-120)

This is a pretty fair estimate for Nebraska’s overall score according to what they have scored in their past games. I think that it will be higher than 25.5 because they are at home, trying to avenge their loss last weekend, and playing spoiler against the fifth-ranked team in the country.

The Cornhuskers have gone over 25.5 total points four out of their nine games, and they are going against a defense going on the road and who has been inconsistent this season.

Moneyline First Quarter - Ohio State (-255)

Ohio State Buckeyes will jump out to an early lead because their offense has been firing on all cylinders. The Cornhuskers will take some time to adjust to the pace of play and the talent that the Buckeyes have offensively.

Once the Cornhuskers settle in, they will be able to score, but Ohio State will go into the second quarter with a lead after their fast start.

Spread First Half - Nebraska (+7.5)

This game will be closer than you would think because it will not be an easy road game for the Buckeyes. I could easily see this being a close game going into the locker room after the first half.

Quarterback Adrian Martinez is a talented dual-threat quarterback who should be able to make some key plays to keep this game close. It will all depend on whether the Cornhusker defense will stop the potent Ohio State offense.

Expected Outcome

Ohio State Buckeyes should be able to win this game, but it will be more narrow than the experts are predicting. This is a trap game for the Buckeyes that they will need to overcome to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Ohio State offense will be too much for the Nebraska defense to handle, but if the Cornhuskers can keep it close at halftime, I expect this game to be a close one until the end.
