Tulsa vs. Ohio State Saturday September 18 Betting Preview

Ohio State will be hosting Tulsa for a Saturday afternoon showdown at 3:30 p.m. EST on FS1. Ohio State is coming into this game at 1-1, and Tulsa comes in, losing both of their first two games to go to 0-2.

Ohio State had an opportunity to beat a good opponent in Oregon last Saturday but couldn’t execute their chances at the end of the game. Oregon held on to win this game 35-28 which propelled Oregon up in the rankings to No. 4 and dropped Ohio State to No. 9.

Tulsa lost both of their games in close matchups and by a total of 7 points. They lost to UC Davis in Week 1 by a score of 19-17 and lost to Oklahoma State 28-23. They will have a tough test ahead of them as they travel to the Shoe to take on an Ohio State team that will be looking to salvage their college football playoff hopes.

Odds

Ohio State comes into this game a 24.5 point favorite with -110 odds for that spread. Tulsa has the same odds at +24.5 to cover the spread. The over/under is set at 61 with odds of -105 for the over and -115 for the under.

How Tulsa Can Win

Tulsa has had two tough losses that could’ve gone the other way to make them 2-0. Nonetheless, they are 0-2 and face a tough Ohio State team who will be looking to avenge their loss from last week.

Tulsa has a solid offensive line that will go against an Ohio State defensive line that hasn’t stopped the run very well this year. Tulsa’s running offense will need to be solid to keep this game close. Quarterback Davis Brin will also need to play a flawless game to give them a sliver of hope.

How Ohio State Can Win

There are many ways this Ohio State team should blow out this Tulsa team. I expect Ohio State to come out hard to make this game as much of a blowout as possible. They will need to win out the rest of their games this season to have a chance to make the college football playoff.

CJ Stroud needs games like these to develop his confidence. He threw for 484 yards against Oregon but still looks indecisive at times on the field. If Ohio State are going to win the crucial games the rest of the season, they will need their quarterback to produce.

Predicted Outcome

Ohio State will win this game with ease, especially coming off a big loss. They had one of the longest home winning streaks broken last weekend and will look to start their new streak with some fireworks.

Expect some big plays early from the Buckeyes to crush any hopes that Tulsa has of winning this game. I don’t expect this one to be close. For the Buckeyes sake, let’s hope it’s not. Still, should be an exciting match to watch and bet one!
