No. 21 Texas Tech vs. Ohio State Maui Invitational November 23 Betting Preview
While both Texas Tech and Ohio State will battle it out in the consolation bracket, both schools destroyed their opponent in their last matchup, which should make for a fun and exciting matchup in this one.
Ohio State Betting Preview
While Ohio State was 2-0 against Cincinnati in the Chris Holtman era, I don't think many expected them to rout Cincinnati by 28 points like they did yesterday.
The Buckeyes were able to get contributions from the top-down last night, suffocating the Bearcats in every aspect of the game.
Ohio State was able to hold Cincinnati to just 22% shotting from beyond the arc, while only shooting a slim 38.5% from the field in total.
Cincinnati also had an unfamiliar game in the turnover battle, losing by a whopping eight turnovers, coughing it up 14 times.
This game is big for Ohio State, as it will be another chance to show the nation they are capable of not only competing against a top team in the nation, but beating one. If the freshman out of Ohio State can continue to contribute at the high rate they are, Ohio State has a legit chance to come out of this one with a win.
Texas Tech Betting Preview
While it was a very dominant win in their game over Louisville yesterday, I don't think it could have gone much worse for Louisville, at least through the first 25 minutes of the game.
Not only did Texas Tech win their game by 32 points, they had only allowed 16 points through the first 28 minutes of the entire game.
The stats were atrocious for Louisville, as they shot 22% from the floor and a brutal 16% from three point range. Credit Texas Tech' defense for making it tough, but again, no way Ohio State shoots that poorly from the floor no matter what.
The Raiders do rank sixth in the entire nation in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency, so you can't take credit from them when it is due.
Best Bet: Texas Tech ML (-125)
I like to think Ohio State can win this game, and I definitely do believe they are capable of winning this game, but I think Texas Tech ultimately comes out on top.
Defense wins teams championships, and while Ohio State is not a terrible team defensively, Texas Tech is probably the better one.
Take the Raiders on the moneyline in this one, and make yourself some coin before heading into Thanksgiving.
